Recently, we had the privilege of collaborating with a tree nursery in Herefordshire, which faced persistent issues stemming from limescale and hard water. These conditions were not only compromising their irrigation infrastructure but also hindering optimal plant growth.
To tackle this issue, we rolled out an acid dosing system, employing a comprehensive approach with tanks, pumps, and state-of-the-art monitoring equipment. First, we analyzed the water supply to pinpoint the sources of the limescale and hard water challenges. Using these insights, we chose an acid specifically formulated to neutralize these harmful minerals. Our system then precisely adds the selected acid to the water supply. As a result, this approach not only dissolves the limescale but also reduces water hardness, ensuring that the irrigation system remains free from further mineral buildup.
After installing this system, the tree nursery saw significant benefits. The irrigation system worked better, with fewer blockages and improved water flow. The removal of limescale and hardness has helped the plants to grow and absorb nutrients better. Plus, it’s cut down on the amount of maintenance required. All in all, it was a big success.
